Dogs’ Amazing Response To Crying Baby

When we have dogs, it’s natural that they immediately become protective of the newborn to come. Dogs have an immense sense for paternity and maternity, and will quickly protect and stand around anyone who is about to have a child. It’s part of the reason why the Michalek family love their amazing dog, Brutus the Bullmastiff.

Fiercely loving and protective, he’s been part of the family since 2016 and is affectionately referred to as the “first baby” of the home. However, they now have another baby: Kayden, who is a human baby boy.

As you might imagine, the amazing Brutus takes his time to look after the little one and do all that he can to protect him. Adorably, he was even protecting his little brother before birth, as Bonnie said:

“Brutus knew I was pregnant before I did — he definitely sensed it before I knew. On the nights my husband was working Brutus refused to be in his crate. Looking back I thought he was just being a brat but really he was trying to protect me.”

However, she wanted to find a good way to introduce Brutus to the little one in the proper way – just as you would introduce a baby boy or girl to their brother or sister. As you also may imagine, Brutus was desperate to get involved, with Bonnie remarking:

“I made sure to pay some attention to him, Brutus completely bypassed my husband to meet Kayden. He immediately wanted to give him kisses and snuggle up to him.”

Brotherly Love

One toy that Brutus carries around with him most of the time is his little yellow ball of fluff. Seemingly, he won’t even put it down for as long as five minutes: he just loves it so much. However, whenever he hears little Kayden start to cry, he will come in to see if he is alright.

He actually brings that little toy with him, too – and offers it to Kayden. If it helps him to feel better, then in the adorable mind of Brutus it might do the same for his little brother. Naturally, this amazing little moment is one that made the hearts of their parents sing with joy.

As the cute little dog wanted to make his brother feel better, he’ll also feel better from doing so. It’s the kind of act of kindness and selflessness that we could expect from our dogs, but when we see it in action it still makes us smile from ear to ear.

Well, one thing is for sure: the adorable little dog and the newborn baby look set to be the closest of friends from their very first days together. Let’s just hope that as time goes on that Brutus does not expect his little brother to be munching on dog food and other such mixtures!

They might have a lot in common, but we’d suggest they might have slightly different dietary needs moving forward.
